The pool’s chlorine was so strong my eyes burned as I walked through, and cutting through that area is one of only two ways to reach the opposite side of the building. The other route means going all the way to one end. The vending machines there took money but didn’t work right: the change machine was broken, and the snack machine only gives change if you buy something, a condition it doesn’t mention until after you’ve put money in. I stayed in January, and the lobby area around Starbucks was uncomfortably cold. The site does advertise breakfast, but it’s just Starbucks, where you have to pay. Other reviewers say the free breakfast was recently removed; I wonder if room prices were lowered too. The bathroom lights use a motion detector by the mirror, near enough to the door that I could reach the sink without triggering them. I had to walk farther in, wait for the lights, then turn around to brush my teeth. My room felt too small for a cot, and the artwork looked AI-generated. When I asked the front desk for an extra sheet so I could sleep on the chair, I was told to find someone in the pool area. They seemed short-staffed. Why send me searching instead of calling someone? Maybe higher wages would help bring in more staff. I also wish I’d known about the suspicious stain on the pillow before sleeping on it. In the morning, I could hear a woman down the hall yelling at her children for twenty minutes straight. That part isn’t the hotel’s fault, but it was awful to wake up to.

The $23.21 refund they offered for the broken hot tub didn’t make up for it, since that was the whole reason I booked. I’m in my 30s and wasn’t looking to sit in a cold kiddie pool. Before reserving, I called to ask whether they still had the same pool amenities after the brand change, and an employee assured me they did. We booked that day and checked in as usual, only to find the hot tub out of commission. No one had mentioned it on the reservation, at check-in, or during my call. I was extremely disappointed by the poor communication and missing amenity. Parking also costs extra now.

Our stay was a real disappointment, and we probably won’t come back. The building could be a great place, but it needs better care and cleaning. Our room seemed to have had a rushed turnover: a washcloth from the previous guests was still hanging on the shower curtain rod. The pool area is large, but dirty and in need of maintenance, and there were no towels. The drink coolers and vending machines were sold out, and even the water jug in the workout room was empty. Parking is $10 a day, with a fine if you haven’t paid by midnight the day before.

We’re back for our second stay and have enjoyed the friendly staff, clean room, poolside rooms, and open pool. The first time, construction was going on and the pool area wasn’t very clean. It’s been kept much cleaner on this visit, and it’s nice to see them working on improvements. MOA is an easy walk away. I just wish they’d brought back free breakfast instead of having the cafe.
