We brought our fur baby, so we stayed on the ground floor, which was okay. The room was very dry, with a lot of static at night. I could see it when I pulled up the sheet and blanket, and our eyes and skin itched. I’m not sure whether it was the detergent or something else. The towels felt rough and low-grade, and the bed blankets were uncomfortable and rough too. The rug was very dirty, and the sofa was both uncomfortable and rough. The menu was limited, and they’d run out of the salmon on the menu on our first night.

We enjoyed the 5 pm wine and cheese, the 24-hour pantry with drinks and ice cream, and the nice indoor pool area. The grounds were charming, and Room 6 at the Lodge was large, but not. Breakfast was included each day, though it was cold and tasteless. The linens felt low-grade, and the carpet was worn out. Getting luggage from the lot to the room was a challenge, with no help or clear directions for how to do it. The restaurant menu was limited, and service suffered because they were short-staffed. We were told the chef had left without notice and taken the staff with him. We heard they plan to remodel. If they improve staffing and breakfast, replace the linens, and add bell staff, we’d likely return.
