Hampton Inn Kansas City/Blue Springs

The location just off I-70 is convenient, but the hotel itself was mediocre. The rooms were decent, breakfast was very average and forgettable, and nothing about the place stands out in a good way. I also saw a woman going door to door trying hotel door handles. My wife and I woke up on a few mornings with random red welts on our arms and legs, so there may be bedbugs. My vehicle was broken into the day after Christmas while I was staying there. It was parked in broad daylight in the closest spot to the lobby entrance, directly in front of two visible security cameras. This wasn’t a secluded spot or an overnight incident. Police came, and a report was filed with the Blue Springs Police Department. The hotel later told me nothing showed on the footage because of “camera blind spots.” With numerous cameras around the building, including the entrances and exits, that explanation seems suspicious and hard to believe. I asked management only to confirm that the relevant footage had been reviewed and saved for the police investigation. I wasn’t asking to see it or accusing anyone. An automated email said someone would contact me within 48 hours, but nobody did. It’s now been three weeks. Hilton Guest Relations didn’t respond either. I also contacted the listed owner, Ashish Patel, before escalating further, and weeks later there’s still been no response. Crime can happen anywhere, but with a daytime break-in in such a visible place, followed by a vague explanation and no communication, guests are right to question what they’re told. If anything happens to your car or belongings, don’t expect transparency or follow-up. The whole thing was nasty, and I won’t return.
