We stayed in the Rhett Butler room, which was comfortable and nicely appointed. It even had a fan in the closet, and a gas fireplace we didn't use because it was too warm. Watch for the step up to the bathroom, especially coming through the door or getting up in the night. Breakfast is a gourmet treat, the innkeepers were friendly, and the price was affordable. The driveway could be tricky to get in and out of if several cars are parked there. A lovely inn.

We found this inn for an overnight stop with my husband and our dog, and it turned out to be lovely. It's family run, with lots of care in the details. The century-old rooms have the conveniences you'd expect at a modern hotel, and there are plenty of interesting places indoors and out to sit and relax. The wraparound veranda was a highlight, though the delicious breakfast might tie for first. I'd recommend it for either a short or longer stay.

We came back to this gorgeous inn in 2022 after staying in the Scarlett O'hara room in 2020. The owners understood when snow kept us from arriving on the first day we'd booked, and we were able to come the next day. Breakfast was amazing again, and everyone was friendly and accommodating. This will probably be one of our regular places to get away from home and work. I also love the little rubber ducks in each room. This time we stayed in the Rhett Butler room and found a panda duck. On our first visit, we found the old mansion cozy, with a lovely breakfast room and a pool table. The owners know the area well and are very nice. The mountains are a peaceful spot if you're after some quiet.

Kitt and Gary were welcoming and glad to accommodate requests, including dietary needs. The breakfasts were delicious, and both our room and the shared areas were clean and beautifully decorated. During our visit, staff and guests wore masks except at socially distanced breakfast, and there were options to reduce personal contact further. We felt very safe, had an amazing time, and hope to return soon.

Kit is warm and friendly; after just a few minutes chatting with her, it felt like we'd known each other for years. Her staff were just as kind and sincere. The rooms have modern conveniences, fast Wi-Fi, very comfortable beds, and upscale historic decor that doesn't feel pretentious. Breakfast was made to order, gourmet, and exquisite, with great care for dietary preferences. The property is beautiful, and this place is a true gem in this lovely part of WV. I'd encourage anyone traveling through to stop here.
