The staff were lovely, and the lobby has free ice machines that came in handy for our coolers. The attached Sinclair makes pizzas and burgers to order. It’s a great place for Comb Wash adventures and deserves to be packed.

For a fairly priced place to sleep, this worked really well for me and my seven-year-old before we met friends on the river. We stayed two nights and found the beds comfortable, and the room fridge worked great. It was easy to reach Monument Valley, Gooseneck State Park, and the Valley of the Gods drive. The one downside was a strong sulfur smell in the water. The Smokehouse restaurant across the street is really good. I’d recommend this if you’re looking for a cheaper place to lay your head.

I can see why this hotel might be a last resort when there aren’t many choices in town. My room was cramped, the TV had no signal, and the internet was unreliable at times. The maids were very nice, though.

The location is the one good thing about this hotel. The rooms and beds were tiny, and there’s no breakfast. You get one little cup of coffee, while the attached gas station doesn’t open until 7:00am, so getting caffeine before then is a problem. At $165 a night, I’d suggest driving on.

The room and bed were great, and it’s a nice hotel. I’d feel more at ease if the parking lot had better surveillance.
