Okatie Hilton Head Hotel

The beds looked nicely made, but they were hard, lumpy, and uncomfortable. The room felt musty and damp when we opened the door, and the old carpet didn't help. It was fairly spacious, though. The hotel is clean and okay in terms of furnishings, but the furniture is old and the rooms are very noisy. Being right by the road means traffic noise around the clock, and we could hear neighbors talking above, below, and next door all night.

The staff were nice and the TV worked, but breakfast wasn't worth it. The hallways smelled like mildew, and the carpet was filthy and worn down to threads. The sheets were supposedly clean. An important outlet didn't work, the walls badly needed paint, the lobby seats were uncomfortable, and the pillows were old and lumpy. I'd pay more to stay somewhere else.

The Halloween decorations were so over the top that it felt like a murder scene or haunted house. My kids were scared, and it came across as completely unprofessional. Our ironing board was stained, and there was a dehumidifier plugged in out in the hallway. The towels were ragged and paper thin. In our room, the sheets had been put on over the blanket, while the other bed didn't have a blanket at all. It's shocking how far Hilton has let this hotel fall into disrepair. This stay has damaged how I see the Hilton brand, and I'm surprised they still put their name on a hotel like this.

They leave the side door open, so anyone can get in. I saw a guy selling drugs to people from his jeep. I later found out he was on my floor, and people were smoking crack in his room. Young girls who couldn't have been more than 17 or 18 were being sold from his room and the parking lot. Do not go here!
