Sarah M.
I checked in on July 1st, 2025, booked through July 3rd, and had also reserved July 3-4 as an extra night before arriving. I didn't stay any of those nights. Later, Priceline told me the owner refused to work with them on a refund. I guess that's how they feel about the property's abysmal quality. Be warned. I booked this because I'm in Blythe for work several times a month, but I wouldn't come back. There are plenty of better value options around town. The room was filthy: grime and dirt everywhere, spiderwebs, a brown splatter behind the toilet, stains on the chair and mattress, dusty surfaces and hair, floor burn marks, a showerhead so clogged with lime that water barely came out, and a rusty toilet that was falling apart and flaking. It all looked like it belonged beside a dumpster. I only realized how bad things were after hauling my things upstairs. The room was extremely hot, and the A/C barely worked. I had work to do, so I tried to get online. There was no "Econo Lodge" network listed. The man at the desk, who later said he was the manager, gave me a password and said it should be "the first one." He was actually giving me the employee Wi-Fi details. The guest network used the property's old brand name, Regency Inn. It took three trips to the lobby to get the right information because he was very sure he was right. I also missed the Wi-Fi details printed on the key card sleeve, and the manager hadn't noticed them either. At first, the front desk man seemed pleasant and the lobby looked quaint, with no obvious warning signs. Then he struggled to check me in. He apologized and explained that "everyone just left," so he had become manager by default as the only employee remaining. It was his third day on the job. He eventually worked it out, but during my failed attempts to connect to the internet, I looked around and decided I was leaving. I went down to explain the state of the room. He apologized and said he was new and had never been inside most of the rooms. He offered another room he'd seen, but I had already booked somewhere else and wasn't interested. If he was the only employee handling everything and hadn't seen the rooms, who was cleaning or checking the staff's work? He seemed to have no idea what was going on. I called Priceline to ask about a refund since I booked through them. Their agent said the manager claimed he had no authority to issue one, and they'd need to speak with him when he got back into town. I never heard anything after that. In response to the reply below: my last name is Brown. I was booked July 1-3, then added July 3-4, and stayed none of those nights. At 9:00 pm on 8/20/2025, I was at the Comfort Suites down the road if the owner wanted to discuss it in person.
