Motel 6 Blythe, CA - South

It was late, the roads were icy, and we needed somewhere to stop with our young kids. The reviews looked high, though in hindsight I wonder if they were purchased. Pulling in already felt scary. Around 30 to 40 Middle Eastern men were using two side-by-side rooms, with the doors open and people constantly going in and out. I think some upstairs rooms were rented too. One man came up to my young son, and I told him to back off. He seemed to think I was dropping my child off for whatever filth they had going on. We rushed into our room, but there was only a thin blanket and no extra bedding in the middle of winter. The toilet was visibly dirty, with poop still in it, so I had to wipe the seat with alcohol. I lifted the sheets to look for bedbugs, saw what looked like blood covering half the ancient mattress, and quickly put them back. It felt like we were sleeping at a murder scene while something that sounded like a sexual assault was happening nearby. My young kids woke up worried about the person they thought was being attacked. Calling the cops didn't seem to do much, and the front desk wouldn't answer. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. It gets worse, but there isn't room for all of it. Don't stay here, and if you can, don't stop in this town.
