The Palmetto Inn

The people working here were really friendly and accommodating, and you could tell they wanted us to have a good stay. My concerns were with the room itself. The sink was barely usable and seemed almost in pieces. It was easy to knock loose by moving it side to side, so it had to stay pointed one way. One room also smelled so musty that it was concerning. We had six people, though the room was more comfortable for four, and there wasn’t enough seating in the living area. The TV setup meant no more than three of us could sit together on a couch, so we couldn’t all hang out comfortably as a family. The space also felt empty for lack of furniture. The sunroom cushions were so flat it felt like sitting right on the bench. These all seem like easy things to fix, and I hope they update them. The A/C units can be a bit loud too, though I personally didn’t mind.

We chose the Pinfish room, the smallest one, and were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was. The Inn is perfectly located, with nearly everything, including the beach, within walking distance. Margarita (GM), the front desk team, and housekeeping were all welcoming and friendly.

We stayed in the Blue Marlin room, which was spacious and clean and suited a vacation or work stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There’s a pool and laundry available, plus a kitchen in the suite and activities in the room. Downtown is right next door, so shops and restaurants are an easy walk, and the beach is just a short stroll away. I’d definitely stay again.

We hadn’t planned to stop, but after a full day boating from Naples to Sarasota, we were tired and pulled in by boat at Miller's Marina. The Palmetto in was an easy walk from the marina. We grabbed a lovely dinner at the nearby Key Lime Bistro, just around the corner. We booked at the last minute through Thia, who was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was clean, the linens were fresh, and both the service and location were great. Thia really saved the day for us!
