It used to be beautiful, well kept, and known for having a good reputation. Since it was sold, though, the place has become an eyesore. The roads in, out, and around it are in disrepair too. It’s sad and awful to look at. It isn’t a motel anymore.

The only thing I liked was how close it was to everything in town. I left as soon as I could and showered as soon as I got home. I’d only stay here again if I were desperate. We booked a nonsmoking room, but it reeked of stale cigarettes, and there were several cigarette burns in the bedding. There were visible stains on the bedding and fabric chairs, plus hair in the bathroom that wasn’t ours. No tissues, either. The water took at least five minutes to get warm, and never got hot. After we showered, the rod wouldn’t stay attached to the wet walls. The room smelled of must and too much cleaning product as soon as we walked in. The heat was hard to control, either too hot or too cold, with no way to set a temperature. We didn’t find bed bugs, though we both felt like we were being bitten overnight. The desk attendant was direct but not welcoming. We were told room 220, but got keys for 218. When we pointed that out, he said nothing, stomped around, and opened our room with his master key in a passive aggressive way. It made our repeated trips through the lobby while unloading the car awkward. The first night was mostly quiet aside from doors repeatedly opening and closing. The second night, people argued for hours. The hallway door doesn’t seal well, so light leaks in around the edges and noise comes straight through. You get what you pay for.

I booked a room because I was supposed to sing at an outdoor event. The event was probably canceled because of bad weather, so I asked to cancel on the Monday before that Saturday. I got no reply, and no reply to a second request either. Their website said they don’t give cancellations. I won’t book through Booking.com or stay at Quality Inn again. Shysters.

The sheets seemed clean, the mattress was decent, and I didn’t find any bedbugs. I was so tired the mattress probably wouldn’t have mattered much, though. We did what we needed to do in the area and got out of there. A “friend” made the reservation for me. With friends like that, who needs enemies? I’ve stayed in plenty of budget and mid-range hotels and motels, and this was the worst experience. Bring a good GPS because you’ll need it to find the place. The desk clerk barely communicated, and I couldn’t tell if he spoke English. The room was dingy, with furniture that looked like it came from a yard sale. The bathroom light blew the first time I switched it on, luckily I had a good flashlight in the car. I didn’t try the shower because using it with just a flashlight in the bathroom felt like a horror movie. There was no TV, and the only lamp was weak and in a corner far from the bed. I didn’t see any amenities.

I stayed one night. The sheets looked clean, and I was glad there were no bedbugs. I’ve been in worse places, so I was satisfied enough with the visit. The ceiling light was useless, though the smaller lamp worked better. The room smelled a bit like cigarettes and stale air even though I had a nonsmoking room, and with the air conditioner off when I arrived it felt swampy. I guess you have to open the curtains, lol. I agree with the review about women traveling alone. The general vibe and questionable door locks made me uneasy, especially since my peephole was literally a hole in the door, with no glass or anything. You get what you pay for.
