The room was spacious and clean, if a little dated, and the lobby was quiet and clean too. The man who checked me in was polite and welcoming. A few kids ran around outside, but that was the only noise and it wasn’t disruptive. I’d booked before reading the reviews, and after seeing them I was honestly reluctant to stay. In the end, it was a nice place. I would have liked disposable cups in the room and a working ice machine on the property.

It’s in a good location and has a lot of potential, but the rooms were dusty and the wifi and TV didn’t work. Our nonsmoking room had a very strong cigarette smell. The bathroom door was damaged, and two of the three drawers in the dressing room were broken. Breakfast wasn’t provided, even though the website advertised it.

I wouldn’t recommend the Rodeway Inn Skytop. The shower and sink water smelled gassy, and the bathroom didn’t look properly cleaned or sanitized, with little flies buzzing around the toilet. There was sticky residue on the nightstand, and the walls were overdue for a fresh coat of paint. As soon as I walked in, I noticed a musty smell. Five thumbs down.

It looks okay in places, and from what I could see it’s not a terrible place to stay, but it’s pretty run down overall. The maids don’t do a very good job cleaning, though I don’t know if the higher-ups are aware. I didn’t do the UV light test. You might want to if you’re planning to stay more than one night.

The staff are very friendly, and the location has potential, but the whole place needs a full overhaul. The beds and sheets are outdated, the floor rugs should be replaced, and the bathrooms and the rest of the property need a much better cleaning. The parking spaces are very tight, and the outside could use more lighting. I didn’t see any bugs or anything like that in the room. The AC worked, as did the appliances. I guess you get what you pay for.
