Those pillows seemed designed to fling me from one position to another, with no support at all. The bed was just as bad. I woke up aching in muscles I hadn’t even known I had, right down to my elbows. I’ve slept in a car, on airport floors, and even once in a phone booth in Japan, where I woke refreshed and ready for the day. None of that prepared me for this. Calling these things mattresses feels like a stretch. If sleeping badly, back pain, and medieval-torture vibes are what you’re after, go for it. Otherwise, you might as well lie on a pile of regrets; at least that could be more supportive.

Never again. The room was tiny, like a hole in the wall, and there’s no elevator. There was food on the floor, hair in the shower, two pubic hairs on the sheets, and a blood stain on the chair. On top of that, there was no hot water. The GM said the water heater was going out and they couldn’t do anything about it.

We’ve brought our band and cheer squad here for events over the past two years, and they’ve been very accommodating. The layout works well, access is easy, and the rooms have been clean each time.

The airport parking option is good, and the hotel is only half a mile from the airport. I walked back to pick up my car, which took about as long as, or maybe less time than, waiting for a shuttle. The rooms can be very small, especially with two beds, and cleanliness could be better. They’re a little nicer than a Super 8 room. Late into the night, groups of men sat outside in lawn chairs talking, smoking, and drinking, which could make some guests worry about safety.
