We regretted not booking a longer stay. Debbie had plenty of stories about White Sands NP, which we’d visited, and breakfast came with eggs from the farm. The rescued pets were a fun surprise, especially Pickles the Parrot, who nearly chatted with us. Our en suite room had a balcony, and we were welcome to use the downstairs entertainment rooms. Debbie and Robert have opened their lovely home to B&B guests, and they’re lovely hosts too. There are goat and chicken pens outside.

We were left scrambling for a place to stay in Alamogordo in the middle of our road trip and vacation. Our Priceline reservation clearly listed two adults and one child, but when we arrived, we were told there were no exceptions and we couldn’t stay. They told us to contact Priceline, then gave us no further help. Priceline spent three days trying to reach the venue to work out a refund or other resolution for everyone, but the venue didn’t answer the phone, including when Priceline called as instructed. I’m disappointed with how this was handled.

Even with just one night there, we got to enjoy the pool inside the house, which was amazing. In the morning, there were unexpected drinks and a fruit plate, followed by a wonderful breakfast prepared by the host. I wish we’d had more time to stay and explore. The mountains and natural surroundings were lovely, and there were friendly animals inside and outside the house. The room felt classic and cozy, like visiting family. The hosts were professional and made us feel at home. They sent a warm, sincere message after I booked to ask how they could accommodate us, and even called before we arrived to check in. The service was top-notch, one of my best Airbnb experiences so far.

Debbie makes an amazing breakfast, enough to keep you full until dinner. The house is a very nice building in a quiet spot with good mountain views. It’s pet friendly, though they have pets of their own. The owners host this B&B, and the stay felt pleasant and unique. I’d choose it over a hotel.
