SpringHill Suites Chicago Bolingbrook

There was so much mold on the bathroom ceiling, about a square foot, and the smell got worse after I reported it. I arrived late and slept the first night. In the morning, when I first used the bathroom, I noticed a smell but didn’t see anything until I looked up. I told the front desk before leaving, and they said they’d take care of it. When I returned, some mold had been removed, but far too much was still there. The before and after pictures show it. I asked to switch rooms, but they said none were available. They offered no other hotel or refund at checkout, just 2000 points. I contacted Marriott Corporate, who said they’d have the hotel handle it, and gave me 6000 points. I kept contacting them because that clearly wasn’t enough compensation, but they ghosted me multiple times. If this is their cleaning standard and Marriott Corporate is fine with it, as their lack of action suggests, who knows what might be in the sheets. My advice: stay at a Hilton 🤷

I visited family who were staying here and found the staff kind and accommodating. As a guest, I was allowed to have coffee and tea from the lobby. The pool area was nice, though the water and space felt a bit too cold for me. My family didn’t feel that way. If I didn’t live nearby, I’d stay here myself, and I’ll keep recommending it.

I’ve never had to do my own laundry at a hotel before, but apparently that’s what they expect at this Hilton. They charged me for a wash clothe I’d used to remove my makeup, which is washable. The staff were friendly, and housekeeping kept the rooms clean and stocked each day. Rooms are spacious and well laid out, though the bed was firmer than I prefer. Breakfast is included, but the choices aren’t great. It’s a decent hotel with decent rooms, nothing special but not bad, and good value for the money.
