The house itself was beautiful, and the view was breathtaking, but all the posted rules and notes felt overwhelming compared with the amenities. There was also an unsettling feeling to the place. We were taken straight to the dining room and given a long list of what we could and couldn't do, then found laminated reminders all over our room, even by the toilet. The next morning, when I went for coffee, I met Joe. I introduced myself as Linda, and he said, “I know who you are, I know exactly who you are. I know everyone who stays at my house.” I still don't know why he said it that way, and I kept wondering how he could know anything about me. I'd followed the rules like a soldier and hadn't really broken any. I definitely wouldn't recommend the place to anyone I like.

Being right on the lake was wonderful, especially with French doors opening from our room onto a balcony over the water and a big porch to enjoy. The lodge and rooms were beautifully decorated, and I loved being close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Joe, Patty, and Laura were kind, gracious hosts who paid attention to every detail and made us feel like family. I can't wait to return, and I'm looking forward to a ride in your beautiful Craft wooden boat. What a gem.

We've been coming back for 16 years because we love staying at The Boathouse. The owners, Patti and Joe, and Laura, the Manager, are the main reason it feels so special. They're dedicated to their guests. The setting on Lake George is beautiful, the rooms are first-class, and the grounds are incredible. Just look at the pictures. It really doesn't feel like anywhere else.

Joe took us out on the lake, and hearing his stories and passion for the lakefront and nearby properties helped us feel connected to this Adirondack gem. The Boathouse has a lot of history and has been preserved for everyone to enjoy, so don't miss it. Joe and Patti were welcoming from the start, and the attention to detail across the property was spectacular. Our stay exceeded expectations, and we've already booked for next year.

I just booked my 2024 summer stay at the Boathouse. We return every summer and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. It's a magnificent property, and Joe and Patti are wonderful hosts we're always glad to see. You can walk to everything from this inn, which impressed me. I'd highly recommend staying here, and make time for a Lake cruise with Captain Joe. It's a special place.
