Comfort Suites Boone - University Area

The room was quiet and clean, and we felt safe. There was plenty of parking, and the lobby fireplace was really cool. Staff were amazing, including the friendly, informative person looking after breakfast. For a one-night stop, the breakfast was way more than we expected: blueberry and pumpkin waffles, eggs, bacon, boiled eggs, toast, biscuits, pastries, and cereal. The heated pool was there too, though we didn’t have time to use it. Great value for what you get, and we’d definitely stay again.

That was the best full breakfast we’ve had there yet. The woman preparing it and her husband did a great job, and even the orange juice was good, which never seems to happen anywhere! We come back every year when we visit Boone/Banner Elk. It’s always clean and the staff are nice.

Fine for the price, but the pool was ice cold. Breakfast was okay. They didn’t bring extra towels or take the trash.

In the morning, while brushing my teeth, I saw a roach crawl out from behind the bathroom mirror. I reached for my camera, but by then it had disappeared. The check-in experience didn’t help. I arrived about 50 minutes early, and the room was ready and empty, but the clerk still insisted I wait until check-in time. Then I was told no parties were allowed, even though I’m a single senior guest who’d booked one night. They’d made a point of this before, too. Last year, after I reserved a room, I was told some local "hicks" had thrown a party and caused damage. I felt insulted. I’ll take my business to a hotel with better hospitality.
