From the third-floor window seat, we could watch the harbor through the binoculars, with a view all the way down the water that we couldn't get elsewhere in town. Our room stretched through the house and had a master ensuite, a dressing nook, and a separate sitting room. A door between the front and back added privacy; the sitting area also had a trundle daybed, microwave, and small fridge. There were a lot of stairs, but the room and view made the climb worthwhile. Kathryn and Peter were friendly and informative, then gave us space to ourselves. Breakfast is served from 7 to 9. They had a plate ready when we came down, and we could eat in the dining room, outside, or bring it back to the room. We could also just grab coffee or juice and sit on the veranda watching the water. The walk to the footbridge and the shops and restaurants beyond was easy. Seafood is everywhere, though none of it stood out to me. For a change, Boothbay House of Pizza is a short drive up the road. There's a laundromat in the same strip center and a grocery store across the street.

That homemade breakfast was a real highlight: casserole, fruit, bacon, sausage, and more, with one of the innkeepers open to reasonable requests. My harbor-view room was very comfortable, well appointed, and had a great mattress. The innkeepers were friendly and answered whatever questions I had, then left me to enjoy my stay. The old Victorian house feels cozy and lived in. I stayed in October, and it was the best bed and breakfast experience I've had. Boothbay is lovely to walk around, and this is a great place to start exploring.

We visited during Covid-19, and the hosts clearly took cleanliness and sanitation seriously. Check-in and checkout were contactless, while the hosts still made the stay feel personal and followed safety protocols well. Kathryn also went above and beyond when we had an unusual last-minute request. The room was spacious, nicely appointed, and had lovely local touches. We were impressed by the spectacular views from both our room and the ocean-front property. Our stay at the Bayside Inn surpassed what we expected, and we'd love to visit again.

It was easy to explore town on foot from this lovely seaside inn, right in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. The owners were friendly, efficient, and full of helpful information. Our room was spotless, and the king-size bed was very comfortable. The food was delicious, too. What a great find in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. We'll be back!

We came in the off-season, when a lot of places were closed, and still had a delightful stay. The bay view was lovely, the shower was great, and downtown was an easy walk away. There was also a truly lovely restaurant nearby, plus Mama D's across the street, a local favorite for a scrumptious breakfast.
