Holiday Inn Express Bordentown - Trenton South by IHG

A dirty, run-down place with rude staff and an inedible breakfast. I’d put it among the three worst hotels I’ve stayed in. The breakfast was greasy and undercooked. I took one bite, spit it out, and threw the whole thing in the garbage. The drink machine was basically out of order, even though it was the only drink option. Walls and furniture were stained, dirty, or damaged all over, there were random wires hanging around, and you can’t even put trash bags in the cans. The bathtub and its walls were dirty too. I took the room pictures right when I arrived, except for the breakfast picture, which was from the morning.

My husband says he knows where he puts his things and in what order, and we always inspect hotel rooms and take pictures when we arrive, including under beds, nightstands, in showers, and on the sheets. He left the room to get water from his car, and when he returned maybe five minutes later, his bag was open. The room was very close to the entrance. His pants were gone, probably because they were rolled up and someone thought they were valuable. He’s pretty sure his underwear and a shirt or two were missing too. Bags and things inside that one bag had been moved, even though he’d taken pictures before leaving and the bag was unopened then. When he told the woman at the front desk, she offered a different room. She didn’t say, “huh thats strange,” or ask whether he wanted her to check the security camera or ask the joining room. When he showed her why he thought something was wrong, she said, “ive seen enough,” while texting on her phone. As soon as she left, while we were still on the phone, his room phone rang once at 8:26pm. It felt like she called it when she got back to the desk. Something doesn’t smell right here, and it’s not just the breakfast. There were no garbage bags in the room either, maybe they took the stuff in those. Update: that same night, less than three hours after he got there, he was in the shower and someone came in again. He’d just gone through his things with me on the phone and left his vans shirt on top in the bag. After his shower, he called me and said he thought he heard something. He checked his stuff again, and the vans shirt was gone. He searched the room, inspecting it like we normally do at check-in, and suddenly found the shirt under the bed in the middle. There’s no way it fell there. It had clearly been tossed under. His underwear was near the nightstand too. This is some weird game they’re playing. Maybe they thought he wouldn’t notice and tried to cover it up, but the pants were too big to just be tossed around like someone had dropped them by accident. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! BE A BETTER PERSON!!! May 12th, around check-in at 8:00 pm.

The hosts were wonderful and helpful, especially Elisabeth. The beds were so comfortable, breakfast was excellent and complimentary, and there was fresh coffee in the lobby around the clock. We stayed last night and it was GREAT. I already wrote a review, probably in the wrong place, but wanted to say it again.

Breakfast had a good variety, the staff were very friendly, and the location was good. It was quiet at night. My only complaint was that the bathroom floors and the shower and tub needed cleaning. There’s also a nonslip mat in the bathtub that made it feel like ice-skating underwater, which didn’t feel safe. I’d recommend replacing it.
