The rooms are noisy, with frequent train and traffic sounds as well as noise from neighboring rooms. Parking costs another $45 a night, and they've added a $25 daily destination fee. For the amenities, there’s no concierge lounge, valet parking, or free breakfast, and even basics like mouthwash and body lotion are missing, regardless of Bonvoy status. I’ve stayed here multiple times over the past two years, and the small bar is usually staffed by one person. Food is available, but wait times vary a lot. On a recent weekend, my wife and I wanted cocktails, but every floor seat was covered with empty bottles, glasses, and dishes, and the bar seats were full. We stood there for over 20 minutes, then gave up and left without ordering.

I stay here because it's close to family, but some of the hotel's habits are odd. The HVAC is so loud for both heating and cooling that I usually run it before bed, then switch it off. They also leave all the lights on in unoccupied rooms all night, which seems like a big waste of energy and makes arrival a bit of a pain. There are probably 10-12 little lamps to find and switch off. I like having lots of lighting options, but do they all need to be on when you arrive?

I wouldn't recommend this place. I tried to shower at 4:30am and ran the water for more than 10 minutes, but there was no steam and the faucet stayed at about the same temperature. The warmest it got was ice cold to barely lukewarm. Afterward, I sent feedback by email because I didn't want to bother the overnight desk workers about something they probably couldn't fix. All I got was a message saying things like, "Hope you'll stay with us again in the future." Not a great experience. EDIT: I saw their response below, and it's the same generic copy-and-paste language.

Rooms: 5 | Service: 3 | Location: 3 The rooms are actually not bad, and they now have white noise machines that help with the very thin walls. You can seriously hear someone fart or talk in the next room. My one complaint this visit is the breakfast, which is a hot mess every time I come. They run out of food and coffee mugs, and the utensils are on a separate table and have to be handed to you. Why?

The staff are sweet and polite, and the hotel is new and feels fresh. There's also a wonderful café across the street with delicious food. Still, the problems added up. The railway nearby made it hard to sleep at night, and the soundproofing is so bad we could hear neighbors from every side. In summer, the big dumpster just outside makes the smell quite unpleasant. On the third day, I asked for the bed linens to be changed and the floors mopped, but was ignored. They only took out the trash and replaced the towels. Parking is $45 per day, and it's not even valet. It's not included for long stays, and there are no nearby alternatives. They also charge $25 per day for some kind of “credit,” but it's unclear what it's for. Apparently it can be used in the lobby, bar, or for breakfast, or it expires. Doesn't this violate consumer rights? This charge wasn't mentioned when I booked, and I didn't consent to having my money managed this way.
