Breakfast was a highlight. There was a good range of choices, including pastries from a local bakery, and David made sure our food arrived at the time we requested. He kept our coffee topped up and shared restaurant tips and stories from his theatre adventures each morning. We stayed over presidents day weekend and had a great time. When we arrived to drop our bags before exploring, David showed us to our room, which was ready for an early check-in. It was lovely to freshen up after the flight before heading out. The room, Albee, was spacious, with a reading nook. The balcony would have been nice in warmer weather, and the views were still pleasant. Being on the top floor was quiet. The B&B is well placed for exploring Boston, while the neighbourhood itself is relatively quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Reinhold was a gracious, engaging host, and the building has real elegance, though its stairways are fairly steep. The handrails make getting around manageable. The place feels warm and welcoming, in a beautiful neighbourhood, and the continental breakfast is a great start to the day. The breads and pastries were excellent, with granola, yogurt, and cold cuts as extras. There are plenty of fine restaurants nearby, and the Old Town Trolley is a short distance away.

The Bernstein room felt private, away from the other rooms, and was generously sized with modern furnishings and a comfortable bed. Breakfast is a friendly, cozy chance to meet other guests. You choose what to order and when to have it in the morning, but be careful, there’s a lot of food. I didn’t mind on vacation-ish, and it was nicely presented. Reinhold was a treat: a great host and an interesting person with lots of useful information about the city and neighbourhood. They helped me bring my luggage in early and had my bags put in my room while I was out. I’ve stayed at plenty of bed and breakfasts, and this was one of the best. The South End spot is quiet and quaint, though construction outside started at 8am and made for a pretty effective alarm clock. The price is great for the quality. Highly recommended!

The hosts were gracious and accommodating, and my room was charming and spacious. I was in town for the NAEA 2019 conference at the Sheraton, so it was great to be close by without being stuck in the hotel the whole time. I loved my stay, and this will be near the top of my list next time I’m in Boston.

Getting around was easy from this South Boston location. It’s about a 5-7 minute walk to Back Bay Station, with train, subway, and bus connections, and we could also walk to downtown, Boston Common, and Copley Square. The neighbourhood felt perfectly safe at any hour. Reinhold had a great map of places to eat, and the four or five spots we tried were all superb. We even returned to some of them. We spent seven wonderful nights at Encore Bed & Breakfast. Our room was beautiful and quiet, with a great bed, reading and mood lighting, a comfortable sitting area, and a fully serviced bathroom. The cleanliness and decor were consistently superb throughout the building. Breakfast was amazing: we ordered the night before and it was served with style. There was yogurt, granola, eggs, cheese, fresh fruit, lots of bakery choices, juice, tea, and coffee. Reinhold was friendly and helpful with suggestions and getting around. His personal, caring attention really enhanced our Boston visit. My wife and I have already bragged about the trip.
