A quiet, charming guest house with a European feel and a great location. The beds were delightfully comfortable, the atmosphere cozy, and the views peaceful. Customer service was responsive. Just be ready for stairs, you need to be in shape 😊

The location is wonderful, but we won’t stay here again. We paid an extra $75 to get into the room an hour before normal check-in even though it was ready, and then the door code didn’t work. They reset it after we called, but that was a lousy start. The room was clean, but there was no hand soap, and we got coffee with no coffee pot. Several lights didn’t work, there was no usable TV because the remote was broken, and the single curtain was too small for the window, so lots of light came in. We didn’t know the room shared a connection with another one. We could hear the neighbors’ entire conversations, and clearly hear when they came and went. It was 38 degrees outside, and our room had no heat. We emailed and got a quick reply, but nobody came to fix it for the first 2.5 days, leaving us freezing for half the stay. The window wasn’t sealed properly either, so there was a constant draft. We weren’t offered any partial refund or other compensation. We stayed five nights and six days, so we needed housekeeping, fresh towels, and somewhere to put the trash. There was only one small garbage can, which filled quickly, and fresh towels cost $25. The location is great, but I’d pay more to have a much better stay at another hotel.
Three stars for the good price, location, and very hot water that lasts, once it finally arrives. The hot water takes ages to come through. There were plenty of frustrations during our four-night, five-day stay. The room was ready for early check-in, but we had to pay extra, and then the code didn’t work, so we had to call. Housekeeping missed the edges, and extra towels cost money no matter how long you book. Two towels, two washcloths, and one dark makeup cloth weren’t enough for our stay. There is a coin laundry on site, but who wants to do laundry on vacation? The TV didn’t work well, there was no bathroom counter space or fridge freezer, and the toilet paper was awful, like John Wayne one-ply awful. Glad CVS is across the street. The lamp had a short and was really annoying. You can’t adjust the heater, so hopefully 72 degrees suits you, though the window opens if you get too warm. There was no extra blanket, and the thin walls make this a bad choice for light sleepers.
For a stay in downtown Boston that doesn't cost a fortune, this is a good, simple option. The room had a private bathroom and was nicely equipped, including a kitchenette and a decent iron. I had a nice experience here.
The rooms were clean, and both the office staff and cleaning crew were so polite and second to none. Thanks for having me as a guest 😊 😀
