The rooftop garden and city views were unbeatable, overlooking Boston Common. I’ve already told my family we should return for the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on the 4th of July, because this rooftop would be the perfect place to watch. The location is hard to beat too, with restaurants, shopping, historic sites, and parks all within walking distance. Step outside and you’re in the heart of Boston. The three bedrooms were all spacious and each had its own en-suite bathroom, so everyone had privacy. High ceilings made the place feel bright and airy, and the bathtub was a relaxing treat after a long day. Though ultra luxurious in design, it was surprisingly kid-friendly, which made the family trip easy. A private elevator takes you straight to the unit, and the living room and kitchen are roomy, beautifully designed, and fitted with top-of-the-line finishes. It was fully equipped for work or vacation. I was in Boston for work, appreciated the dedicated workspace, and my family joined me for a few extra days exploring the city. It worked perfectly for both. The value is unmatched. A luxury hotel with half the space would easily cost three times as much. Pete was always available, friendly, and genuinely hospitable, which made the guest experience top notch. We can’t wait to come back. If you’re considering booking, just do it. You won’t regret it.

Being able to fit six adults, with enough bedrooms and bathrooms, was useful for our Boston wedding trip. The place also had everything we needed to cook, watch TV, or iron clothes, and the location across from Boston Common put the Veterans Day parade right outside, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Still, at that price, the apartment was a letdown. It felt new in places but worn and battered in others. There was plastic on the dining table and a box of flooring beside the wall, as if repairs were unfinished. The pocket doors were scuffed, sat crooked, and wouldn’t latch. The main bathroom was pretty and had a nice shower, but it was cold and dim, with no heating or cooling vent. The bedrooms weren’t all suites, and one had to use the main bathroom. That room also had no closet, just an open wardrobe-like fixture. The low beds were hard for me to get into as a disabled combat veteran. We could hear the family upstairs running around, music from a nearby gym early in the morning, and the subway passing by. We were on the second floor, so higher units might be quieter. Construction next door woke us before 7 on Saturday, and its scaffolding hid the little church and bell tower, which chimed every hour. The construction should end eventually; the bells probably won’t. The app controlled entry, the elevator, and rooftop garden, but the fire-escape back door had been left open, so the place only felt sort of safe. There was also a urine smell in the lobby from people relieving themselves by the entrance. It’s a convenient spot right by the subway, and the apartment could work well for a family reunion if you rent one or more units. Next time we’re in Boston, I think we’ll look elsewhere.

We were three couples, and The Monty worked out perfectly since everyone had their own room. It’s right on the Freedom Trail, across from the park, and close to bars and restaurants, so we got to do lots of the sightseeing we’d hoped to fit in. Since this was the middle of our trip, having a washer and dryer was a huge help. Peter was great to deal with. I’d definitely recommend it!

The room was immaculately clean, and the location is fantastic. We heard construction next door one morning, which was a nuisance, though it wasn’t The Monty’s fault. Light sleepers might want a noise machine. Even with that, I’d gladly stay here again.

From the furnishings and beds to the bathrooms, appliances, and decor, everything at The Monty felt top tier. I couldn’t believe we got this kind of place for the price, the value is hard to match around here. The views stretch across Boston Common and in every direction, and the location makes getting around easy. Park St station is right by the entrance, and lots of places are an easy walk. Pretty much the perfect Boston stay.
