The Godfrey Hotel Boston

The drinks and sushi-style appetizers at the bar were fantastic, and the staff were A+. Our room was spacious and very clean, and getting to the T was easy. The hotel itself is beautiful. A fridge might be handy if you’re staying longer than a night or two, but I loved it here!

We won’t be back. I’m on oxygen and usually travel with a machine, a couple of small tanks, and our dog, so we choose four-star-or-better hotels expecting help with the luggage. At arrival, there was no bellhop, and I had to manage everything myself. When we were leaving, we called for one and waited 25 minutes. We called again and were told none had been ordered, though someone was sent right up. I asked the front desk gentleman about it; he said the logbook showed I’d called twice and gave me attitude, which I hadn’t. The room was a decent size, but had a lot of wasted space. It was nice to have a chair besides the desk chair. We visit the city for a weekend every few months, and this was our first time at the Godfrey Hotel.

The Godfrey Hotel is right in the town center, with tourist spots, bars, and restaurants easy to reach on foot. There’s also Brew Coffee next door, a delightful shop with some of Boston’s best coffee. The building and rooms have a modern, stylish look, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. My room was spacious and well designed, though I would have liked another chair. The bathroom was roomy and clean, and complimentary tea and coffee made mornings cozy. The gym is small but well equipped for a quick workout. Late check-out was a real plus with my afternoon flight. I had an excellent stay.

The doormen were always there with a warm welcome, opening the door whenever we came or went. That thoughtful touch felt especially nice in the cold Boston winter. We were there over Thanksgiving and had a great stay. The room wasn’t very large, but it was comfortable, well equipped, and laid out thoughtfully. The subway, Chinatown dining, and Duck Tours were all an easy walk away. We’d happily stay here again and recommend it.
