McMenamins Anderson School

I lived here when it first opened and was amazed by what they'd done with the old school district building. It's a lovely hotel with a distinctive atmosphere, nice rooms, and great staff. It's also a real bargain.

There's always something fun about coming here, even if it's just for the day. The passport scavenger hunt is a good challenge, and we love the history, art, culture, food, and ambiance at McMenamins. We watched Wicked 2 in the movie theater, where they bring food and drinks right to your seat, and had a great time. The pool runs a little cold, but we still enjoy it, and the firepits around the property are great too.

We visited in January and the outdoor areas still looked beautiful, even though we couldn't see them at their best. The building itself is gorgeous, especially all the stained glass. Food and service were excellent.

The property is lovely, very clean, and the staff were wonderful. I enjoyed my stay and would come back. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable, with a movie theater, pool, bars, and restaurants on site. I'd have liked a desk and chair in the room, stronger Wi-Fi, and a mini fridge. A kettle or somewhere to get hot water during the day would be nice too. The room had a bistro table with two chairs, school-style.
