Hotel Boulderado

We had dinner at the Corner Bar, and the clam chowder, squash soup, trout, chicken, and key lime pie were all excellent. The waitstaff worked hard, paid attention, and were happy to offer suggestions. Breakfast in the dining room was just as tasty, with accommodating staff there too. We often come to Boulder for a day or a night, and this time we stayed one night at Hotel Boulderado. We love older historic places, so the architecture was right up our alley, with some modern touches. Our room was quaint but had modern features. We both smiled at the tech plug on the alarm/radio, which looked like a Series 1 or 2 iPhone connector. The staff were welcoming and amiable. We’ll definitely return.

After a terrible meal at FlagStaff the night before, we were all a bit wary, but brunch at Hotel Boulderado really came through. We were celebrating my sister’s graduation, and both the food and service were phenomenal. The menu worked for everyone’s needs, and everything tasted delicious. It’s a beautiful, classic place, and our waiter was wonderful. Definitely consider stopping by for brunch or drinks.

We tried the holiday tea in 2025, and this review is only about that experience. The ambiance was okay, but for the price, what we received fell far short of expectations. In 2024 there had been a buffet alongside the holiday tea, which made it a great experience. This year it was replaced with one tea tower and hardly any food. That change wasn’t clear when we signed up, and I felt blindsided. The cups felt cheap, the waitress didn’t explain what was on the tower, and the tea came in a small bag inside a large pot. We left hungry enough to go somewhere else for a meal. Save your money and look elsewhere.

We went to Hotel Boulderado for the John Summit show at Folsom Field, and it made a great base for our weekend. Getting to the concert was easy since the hotel is only a short distance from the venue. Valet was quick and friendly, so arriving and leaving were smooth. The lobby has lovely classic architecture and a cozy feel, and the hotel’s décor is beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with the amenities we needed. The staff were very helpful and made us feel at home. We also had a drink at the bar before the show, where the lively atmosphere was a fun way to start the evening. The hotel combines convenience, comfort, and charm well, whether you’re seeing a show at Folsom Field or exploring Boulder. I can’t wait to come back.
