Best Western Falcon Plaza - Bowling Green

Other than the parking problem, the room and breakfast were fine. We were towing our 5th-wheel camper south to Michigan after winterizing it, so I called ahead to ask whether our big rig could park there. The staffer said to drive under the tall canopy to check in. He didn't ask how tall it was or mention the 13 ft. clearance. I started under it, got nervous, checked, and realized I was about to hit it. Then I was stuck. Turning left meant backing onto a busy street. Staff advised against taking our 33 ft trailer along the right side and around back because of the tight turns. I walked around the hotel and decided those turns were safer than backing into traffic. It worked and I found a place to park, but the bad advice made this the most stressful check-in of my 70 years. If they'd told me the clearance, I could have avoided the canopy and turned left safely.

We were told at check-in that we'd been upgraded, and the location was great, right beside the university where I was visiting my brother. My favorite part was the entrance decorated for Halloween. There were so many fun decorations, and the front desk woman said she'd once run a haunted house. You could tell she knew what she was doing.

Breakfast had lots of choices, including cereal, waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and potatoes. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and our room was beautiful, clean, and spacious.

We were really glad we chose the Best Western near Bowling Green State University. We arrived late and hungry on Thanksgiving, and there was a lovely surprise waiting: a dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberries, salad, and pumpkin pie. The beds were comfortable, our room was quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
