Country Hearth Inn and Suites Bowling Green

We booked the last Jacuzzi suite in town a week before New Year's, so waiting so late was on us. At check-in, the desk clerk seemed annoyed that we needed help. The toilet paper ran out before the night was over, and the towel was so rough it felt like it was exfoliating my skin. We also had to run three batches of hot water before the Jacuzzi was warm enough to enjoy. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but that's how it went.

The place smelled of mold and curry, and the supposed great breakfast was a joke. Our toilet was broken, and on the second day, when I asked for fresh towels, there weren't any. The housekeeper told me to use my floor mat. There were broken windows with glass hanging inside, ready to fall, along with poorly repaired walls in our room and a bad ceiling in the laundry room. Staff at the desk weren't much help, and children seemed to be left there more often than adults. Between the dirt, bugs, and safety and health hazards, this place should be shut down.

We only took a room because everything within 70 miles was sold out for spring break and it was after midnight. We got the last one and regretted it. The room reeked of smoke and was old and filthy. The sink hung away from the wall, the faucet kept running, the dryer was broken and dangling, and the toilet seat was broken off. To flush, we had to lift the tank lid and pull the chain ourselves. There were drywall screws on the shower floor, and three of the four supposedly clean towels had blood stains. The lobby breakfast amounted to cereal and bread, and the staff were very rude.

We checked out without spending the night. The old place smelled strongly of cigarettes and body odor on the first floor, and the sheets had cigarette burns while the bedspread and curtains were stained. Our Jacuzzi suite had no towels at first, and nobody was at the desk. After two calls, towels arrived, but the front desk man was rude to my husband for asking. The toilet seat was chipped down to the wood, the recliner upholstery was torn, and there were wood shavings on the bathroom floor with no clear source. For $95 a night, this low-budget room was not worth it. Too many letdowns to list.
