Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Bowling Green by IHG

The small gym had hand weights from 5-25 pounds, two treadmills, and a recumbent bike. The pool water felt too cold, and there was no hot tub. For BGSU commencement, the campus is just a short drive away. Our room was nice, the bed comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows. The window blinds made it properly dark, too. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, check-in and checkout were easy, and breakfast had a good range of choices.

I was bitten by bedbugs overnight. The manager wouldn’t move us to another room or refund the charge. The only assistance offered was finding an available room at a nearby motel, and I still had to pay full price. They gave us garbage bags to carry out our clothes and luggage. We’ll need to wash everything in hot water and dry it on high for 30 minutes, and I hope that keeps the bugs from coming home with us. This wasn’t handled fairly. It just wasn’t right.

Breakfast was the expected standard fare, but I especially appreciated that the food area was clean, well stocked, and kept at appropriate temperatures. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and the staff greeted us warmly. It was our first stay here, and the location was convenient, right off I-75 with easy access to campus and nearby restaurants. We’d absolutely stay again the next time we pass through.

The walls are so thin it felt like the guests next door were in our room. Around midnight I called the front desk because several men in the adjoining room were yelling and clearly intoxicated. I asked to switch rooms, but got no help and nobody tried to calm them down. I felt unsafe and ignored. A terrible night, zero stars.
