Hyatt Place Bowling Green

We’ve stayed at Hyatt Place Bowling Green many times and have had a great experience each visit. Nick, Ashley, and Olympia are especially friendly and go out of their way to help you feel welcome. I also met Joshua, the manager, and he was just as welcoming. From the moment you walk in, it feels like you’re being received in someone’s home. We’ll keep staying here whenever we visit Bowling Green.

The staff didn’t really greet or acknowledge us outside of check-in. We’re in our mid-20s, and older guests were welcomed and chatted with several times while we were passed over. Check-in itself was a bit rocky. We’d booked months in advance through Hyatt’s website, but when we arrived, the room type we requested wasn’t available. The choices were an accessible room or a one-bed room that wouldn’t have worked for us. We took the accessible room, and it was fine, though our original choice would have been better. It was after 10 pm, so we smiled and said it wasn’t a big deal, even though we were frustrated. The rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious. Parking was odd, too.

The breakfast buffet was good, and the rooms are a nice size. Staff were super friendly, so I’d stay here again. It’s right by Western Kentucky University and about 20 minutes from Mammoth Cave National park. There’s also a really nice bar and restaurant just up the street with delicious food.

My wedding day was badly disrupted by this hotel. Guests had a terrible time getting their rooms, and some found them in awful shape: missing a microwave or fridge, a microwave left on the bedside table, or two queen beds instead of the kings they’d booked. I spent months trying to reach someone to arrange a shuttle and book rooms. When I finally did, I was told the shuttle was already booked, then that they’d got the dates wrong and it was available. On the wedding day, guests asking about shuttle times were told there wasn’t one. They said a golf cart could only go two miles, so they wouldn’t provide it after I’d paid hundreds for the shuttle. Guests were sent to contact the Bowling Green bus and pay for that instead. Eventually we got them to use the actual shuttle van, but they repeatedly refused to pick people up after dropping them off, leaving them stranded. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Thanks for thoroughly messing up my wedding day.
