Red Roof Inn Buffalo - Niagara Airport

We had a terrible start at check-in. It was freezing outside, and the first room had no heat. The next one had a key that didn’t work. We finally got a room that was at least decent, but didn’t match the description, and we’d paid for a king but got a queen. We booked six days and had to leave early, but they refused any refund. When I booked, I was told I could get the unused nights refunded if needed. I wouldn’t have booked otherwise. They took our money and wouldn’t return it, so don’t book here.

Ambrosia made my stay special. She’s always helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating, and goes above and beyond so consistently that I honestly thought she was the manager. She deserves recognition for her excellent service and effort, and in my opinion should get a raise or promotion. The rest of the staff have been great too. The rooms are comfortable, clean, updated, and well equipped, and everyone has been so friendly and helpful. I’ve never had a better hotel experience. Whether you’re here for one night or longer, I’d say go for it. The value for money is hard to beat.

The beds were deeply uncomfortable, mostly because the pillows felt like cardboard. We had to buy our own just to get through the stay, and left with all our belongings smelling of cigarettes. On arrival, the room already reeked of smoke, the sheets were dirty, there was no smoke detector, and both soap dispensers were empty. We reported it all and were told it would be handled. When we came back, the room smelled even worse and looked hazy with smoke, probably from an adjoining room, despite the hotel advertising itself as smoke-free. Nothing seemed to have been fixed. I don’t expect luxury at a budget hotel, but basic cleanliness and safety matter. If those things and a genuinely smoke-free environment matter to you, spend a little more somewhere else.

I’m staying at the Red Roof Inn while I look for an apartment. There’s enough space for my family of three, and having a kitchen makes meals easier. Whenever it’s time to pay, the receptionist Ambrosia checks that our stay is going well. She’s so friendly and cheerful whenever I see her, and has really made this stay better. She’s a kind person.
