Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa

The little touches made this stay special: sparkling wine at check-in, a bottle of local red in the room, seasonal chocolates, and Le Labo Rose 31 bath products that I absolutely love. I’ve been here several times and, when I booked through Amex, got upgraded each time. The rooms are spacious and spotless, and the staff are kind, easy to talk to, and accommodating. The property is beautifully kept, with a peaceful, quiet, elegant feel that says Sonoma to me. Breakfast at Santé was delicious, and 38° N is a lovely spot for a snack. I especially liked the fig and arugula pizza, though it’s seasonal. There’s also a sweet little photo booth on the grounds that made for a special way to capture memories. I hope I can return soon.

The only thing I’d change is the length of our visit. My husband and I stayed at The Fairmont Sonoma February 17th through the 19th, and I wish we’d booked more time. We had a lovely view of the garden and big trees from our room, which also had a spacious bathroom and complimentary wine from a local winery. We tried the complimentary wine tasting in the beautiful lobby, then wandered around the grounds. Even in cold, rainy weather, the natural pool was warm and inviting, and we went each evening. The service made the stay especially easy. At check-in, Alyssa welcomed us with complimentary sparkling wine, explained the property, and answered all our questions. The valet helped with our bags and parking, and people we passed around the grounds greeted us with a smile. Casey at the concierge desk gave us maps, tailored suggestions, and discount vouchers for an afternoon in town, and helped us arrange the free car service for guests. Matt and Christian drove us in the Fairmont car, shared local history, and picked us up soon after we asked for a ride back from downtown Sonoma. We had a great evening at 38 NORTH BAR. Our server, Cassius, knew the menu and wines well, and made specific recommendations based on what we like. The food was delicious, the wine list was extensive, and we felt comfortable and unhurried. Room service also came quickly with a smile, and the fresh, tasty food arrived picnic style, which was a nice touch. Breakfast on our last morning at Saunte was probably the best hotel breakfast we’ve had. Ana was so friendly and the bright, clean restaurant had impeccable service. She brought us their famous banana bread, which I talked about all the way home. Thanks as well to the bellmen and housekeeping team for handling our special requests quickly and helping everything go smoothly. The grounds were lovely, with fountains, flowers, and well kept landscaping, and we were welcomed by the valet as soon as we arrived. Book a stay here. We can’t wait to come back for longer.

Our spa day was the highlight, and Gerald, the spa concierge, deserves a special thank you. He was kind, attentive, and clearly cared about making every part of the day feel seamless and indulgent. His thoughtful guidance and excellent service made a real difference. He’s a gem on the Fairmont team, and we’ll ask for him again. We also had a lovely night at the bar. It felt lively but still intimate, the drinks were beautifully made, and our friendly, attentive server gave spot on recommendations. We felt welcome and never rushed. Between the serene pools, cozy atmosphere, and delicious food and drinks, the stay felt like both a celebration and a proper escape. We visited Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa last week, January 27th. From arrival, the place had that relaxed wine country luxury feel, with warm, attentive hospitality. Fairmont Sonoma keeps setting a high bar for luxury with heart. We can’t wait to return and head back to the bar, too. Highly recommend.

The staff were friendly and knew their stuff, and Andrea made sure our spa days were a fantastic experience. Bobby and Desmond at the front desk were also a big help with all our questions and anything we needed. The resort grounds and rooms were stunning, and it was the perfect place for our girls weekend.
