Inn at Boynton Beach

I feel traumatized and disgusted. The place smelled like rotten eggs, and there were bugs in the hotel. Our shower had stains, and the room doors had no deadbolts. I wasted my money.

I remembered this place as a really nice Holiday Inn Express from 15 years ago, so I booked six nights for another vacation. I tried one night first, and it took about five minutes in the room to realize I couldn’t stay for the other five. The pictures still show the old Holiday Inn Express, and the hotel is nothing like them. The room was filthy and had only a bed, with no other furniture, microwave, or refrigerator. It felt like a shell of what it used to be. Getting in was already a bad sign: the guest house door was propped open with a plastic bag, so you didn’t need a key. The pool was black, and I found a German cockroach in the bathroom. We paid $84. I didn’t bother taking pictures, I just wanted out. This place isn’t worth $30, and you may go home with nasty cockroaches in your luggage. Don’t be fooled by the photos, and be aware before staying at this Inn at Boynton Beach. Unless you like filth and cockroaches, stay away.

The staff at the front desk were welcoming and helpful with questions, and the parking lot was well lit and watched by security. The location is convenient, just off 95, with trees around it and a pretty entrance. The room was decent: the bed was comfortable, the sheets felt clean, the bathroom was fairly clean, and the AC ran quietly and worked well enough for me to sleep. I appreciated the little coffee maker, which worked fine in the morning. Two lights were out, but maintenance replaced them quickly. The room doors also close without a loud bang. It could use a deep clean, though. The lamp base by the bed looked rough, the carpet felt dirty and needs shampooing, and there was an old film on the windows. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, and it wasn’t bad if all you need is somewhere to sleep.

A bed bug crawled onto my arm as I was falling asleep. I rushed outside and saw a roach right by the door. I put both bugs in bags as evidence, but the woman at the desk acted like she couldn’t care less when I told her. I asked to have the room comped and be moved to another floor. The manager said he could find accommodation elsewhere, so I got a full refund and had to look for a new hotel at 11:35 at night, with a suitcase I’m sure was contaminated with bed bugs. Worst service I’ve ever seen. Bed bugs and roaches. 0/10, do not stay here. Disgusting 🤢
