Kimpton Armory Hotel Bozeman by IHG

Chef Jason and hostess Isabella were wonderful when we asked them to make a sandwich that wasn’t on the menu. At checkout, the hotel also made a generous gesture that helped make up for the trouble. We ended up having a very nice romantic getaway and would return. That’s despite how the stay began. The first room was filthy, with dust and dirt on the surfaces, a sticky, dirty thermostat, and ear wax all over the phone. The robes and slippers we’d been promised weren’t there, and the sheets were sticking out from the bedspread. An engineering employee was professional and cordial while trying to fix the thermostat, since the air conditioning wouldn’t turn on. I was ready to leave, but the hotel moved us to a clean room that felt a little luxurious and had great views. I have a Golden Retriever service animal, and wondered if the first room was one they use for guests with pets or service animals. I can’t say that for sure. Still, I don’t think a luxury IHG property should have filthy rooms, and no guest should be expected to stay in one.

Right in downtown Bozeman, the hotel is easy to get around from on foot. I only stayed one night while passing through, so I didn’t get time to try all the amenities, but I’d come back and stay longer. I booked a king premium corner mountain view room, and it was worth it. The room was spotless, had everything I needed, and felt restful, with lovely natural light. The bathroom products were a small, memorable touch and felt high-end. The property was clean and thoughtfully designed throughout, with a luxurious feel that never seemed overdone. Eli, the valet, was friendly and trustworthy, and Patrick at the front desk made the stay feel easy and welcoming. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.

We’ll absolutely come back. The rooms were spacious, clean, and cozy, and the lobby is beautiful. Staff were kind and helpful throughout. We enjoyed breakfast and dessert at fielding, though we missed lunch and dinner. After a snowy day, the rooftop pool felt amazing at a cozy 100 degrees, with great views.

My stay will be brief, but I’m glad I picked this wonderful place for my first visit to MT. Morgan checked me in and was so courteous and kind. She gave me the kind of welcome I wish I got at every business I visit. Had to leave a quick five-star review as soon as I arrived.
