The location was convenient, and the man at the desk was really nice. I was driving from ATL to NY, got tired, and stopped because it felt safer for me and everyone else. I think the room came to $70 with my AARP discount, down from $75, so use yours if you have one. The room was at the back, and when I noticed the door wasn't locking right, the desk clerk offered another room. I was exhausted, though, so he fixed the door and I stayed. It was around 3 am, and I didn't have the energy to pack up and leave. The curtains were busted, the sink area and floor were nasty, the fridge was dirty, and a pillow had stains on it. There was also an empty water bottle behind the nightstand. I can't say whether the bug I saw was already there or flew in while the door was open. I'm not sure whether housekeeping or management is to blame, but the place is convenient and could use some work. If they hired me, I could turn this room and maybe others around.

We won't be back. We were in South Hill, VA, and this hotel felt like a waste of money. The carpet was filthy and needed shampooing, and there was dirt and hair in both the shower and sink. The room lights didn't work when we came in. In the middle of the night, my husband went to the bathroom and came back to find bugs on his pillow. We couldn't tell if they were bed bugs or roaches.

There are a few shops and places to eat nearby, though it's a ways from any bigger city. Sonny at the front desk was great. The room worked for what we needed, but it could've been cleaner.

I asked for a non-smoking room, but it smelled like cigarettes as soon as I walked in. The lights didn't work at all, and the restroom was disgusting. Everything seemed fine until I saw the room. I politely asked for a refund, but they wouldn't give me a refund receipt. The man said he had to speak with his manager, though I'm sure he was the owner. It felt misleading and very unprofessional, and I don't believe they were trying to refund me. I filed a claim with my bank and will contact motel 6 to try to make a complaint since I still haven't been refunded. Avoid this place at all costs.

Most of the guests seemed to be workers from out of town, and it was always quiet and peaceful while I was there. I stayed for several weeks for work. The staff were amazing and always helpful, and the place was always clean. No breakfast, but for the price, it's the best hotel in the area.
