Coming back to this review later, things got even worse. The Wi-Fi was down, and after we went eight hours without it, the front desk gave us a number and told us to sort it out ourselves. Earlier, some doors didn't work, and the outside entrance was taped open so anyone could walk in to the front desk. Our room and the food were dry, the pillowcases had other sheets stuffed inside instead of actual pillows, and the place smelled like weed. The worker was never where she needed to be. The pool was small, there was no hot tub even though one was advertised, and the noise was bad too. This hotel is absolutely horrible, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There's a Best Western right behind this building. Go there. I had a much better experience at one a few months ago.

At 10:10, the noise was still carrying into my room, which was beside the lobby. There'd been a bingo party before we arrived, then a baseball group came back and took over the area. When I asked the front desk to enforce the 10 p.m. quiet hours at 10:05, the response was combative, even though signs around the hotel say quiet time is 10-6 and parties aren't allowed. Check-in took 20 minutes with two guests ahead of me, after I arrived at 6:30. I wish I could give zero stars.

The staff usually make my arrival easier by giving me the room I ask for, close to the front desk so I don't have to walk far after a long drive. I have trouble walking, and they help with that. With a room booked ahead, getting my key is quick, and I can park in accessible parking and use the nearby entrance. I drive up I-57 from Tennessee, more than eight hours, for doctor visits in Illinois four times a year. Over the years I've gotten to know everyone and the area, and the hotel is conveniently close to the Expressway. I appreciate the help.

The breakfast was great, and my kids enjoyed the pool, but the way the front desk woman treated us means we probably won't return. The first room had orange ladybugs across the desk and floor. She switched us straight away and said she'd take care of the bugs; the room across the hall was much better, though it had a strange but not awful smell. We were there for Bears Packers weekend, my dad, me, and my three underage kids. We had been told when booking that we could eat dinner in the breakfast area and watch the game on its big TV, so on our second night we asked to have it turned on. The woman working said the game would be at the bar, where the kids couldn't go, and she wouldn't deal with them running around noisily in HER lobby. They'd been respectful the first night, with no complaints, and we clean up after ourselves. The person who'd told us we could watch there wasn't on duty. In the morning, another front desk worker apologized profusely and explained who we could contact to file a complaint.
