Hampton Inn Bourbonnais Kankakee

The service was among the rudest I've experienced at a Hampton, which is a shame because we can't recommend it to friends. The rooms were very nice, the location was convenient, and it's pet friendly. The facility seemed relatively new and well maintained, with a nice pool. Note based on the hotel's response: We've stayed using my unique name and also made reservations through family members with different surnames.

As a Diamond Hilton member who stays at Hilton properties around the world regularly, I'm disappointed by the housekeeping at this one. I've stayed at two Hampton Inns this weekend and both were unclean; I wrote reviews for each. I usually choose higher-level Hilton properties, but none were available near the family I was visiting. This room had food on the floor under the nightstand, an obvious handprint on its side, a plastic food container with leftover food in the fridge, something sticky on the other nightstand, a door handle and inside lock that looked sprayed but not wiped, and hair on the bathroom shelf. I wish all high-touch surfaces were cleaned between guests, but that doesn't seem to be happening. My room wasn't serviced after the first night. A mirror sticker said rooms were cleaned every two nights, while the last Hilton I stayed at in Michigan told me daily cleaning had resumed in the US. That hotel also had a sticker saying every two or three days. The inconsistency is frustrating. At these rates, I expect daily cleaning, and as a Diamond member I expect a clean room with previous guests' items removed. Hilton needs quality checks after cleaning. It's been a while since I've stayed in a truly clean room. Hilton, please do better.

The room was comfortable and clean during my business stay. Staff were friendly and ready to help, and breakfast was served each morning with plenty to eat. There was lots of space in the dining area, and the coffee was always ready.

Breakfast staff were a highlight, keeping everything fresh and stocked as they moved around the room. They were very friendly, and I liked having two waffle flavors to cook fresh, plus hot dishes and the usual continental options: pastries, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, juice, and fresh fruit. The front desk team were extremely polite and helpful, and the little snack shop had wine and beer choices. The rooms were clean, and although we heard what sounded like a kids' birthday party in a nearby room while in the hall, we couldn't hear it once inside our room. The area felt safe and there were plenty of places to eat nearby. I'll probably stay again when we visit family.
