Pelican Lakes Motel

We didn't even stay the night. The room was supposed to be non-smoking but reeked of smoke, and Expedia hadn't said the whole building was smoking. When I went to get a refund, they made a huge fuss. There were people hanging around the parking lot staring at us, too. There was no ice machine, AC, microwave, or fridge. The building had a shared kitchen, but I didn't trust leaving my daughter's bottles there. The hallway door had a two-inch gap at the bottom and was made of cheap wood. HORRIBLE.

The location is wonderful and the price was cheap, but the rooms were gross and unclean. We were glad we'd brought our own sheets. When I asked the front desk for disinfectant wipes so I could clean up a bit, they said no and told me to buy some at a gas station. Smoking rooms are right next to nonsmoking ones, so the smell easily travels between them and gets into your things.

My daughter needs a service dog for her seizures, and management gave her and her family a hard time over it. When they reported the problems in their room, they were told nothing could be done. The service and management were very rude. My daughter, her husband, and their children stayed there. She woke from a nap one morning to find her pillow covered in thick, coarse dog hair. My grandson was also cut by a piece of glass left on the floor beside a chair. We're highly disgusted. We'll never stay again, and we're cancelling all future reservations. We have family coming from out of state to stay here too. What happened to these places 😔

We've stayed here every July for five years and had no problems until this year. There was no water during our stay, so we couldn't shower, use the toilet, or wash our hands. I asked for a refund for just one of the nights, but it took four days of calls during every shift to reach the manager. When she finally called back, she accused my fiancé and me of stealing dishes and silverware from the suite kitchen. I'm highly disappointed in how she handled it. If I knew who owned narveson management, I'd call them.
