Point Place in Breezy Point has that laid-back, welcoming Up North Minnesota feel, with beautiful views. The staff are always friendly and make you feel like a regular, even on a first visit. The food is solid and the drinks are cold. It's a great place to unwind, meet friends, grab lunch, or just stop for a quick drink. Can't wait to come back!

The lake view was great from our room, number 504 on the second floor. That side has no elevator, though there is one by the pool. The place is clearly old, but if you're fine with a lake house feel instead of pristine rooms, it works. There was lots of space, closets and dressers, plenty of towels, and a well-stocked kitchen for a family of four. Breezy Point sits among some great chains of lakes, so it's a good base if you want to get out on the water. We used Your Boat Club and went to several lakes with them, rather than renting a boat here. Kayaks and paddle boards are available to rent, too. We used jet skis at Grand View Lodge Spa and Golf Resort, about 20 minutes away. There are two beaches, a small playground, outdoor seating, an indoor pool, and a hot tub. The pool was nice, and the hot tub was hot. There's also a Cafe with ice cream and coffee, plus a bar with live music most nights.

The pizza place and coffee shop were really good, and I'd still come back. We had a pleasant few days with family, despite a few issues and some other guests or timeshare owners, whoever they were. Our room was right by the lake, with a little playground just around the corner. The pool was nice and had a great baby pool, though it looked like it needed a good scrub. Our shower drain was clogged when we arrived, and there were hardly any extra blankets for people using the pull-out bed. Bring your own unless you sleep hot.

The balconies are a nice feature, and the lake view is from the dining and living room. These places sit right on the water, with docks just outside, but they're showing their age. There's a hot tub in the unit that you can't use. If you get a loft unit, expect to carry your things up a flight of stairs since there are no elevators. Upstairs there's a bedroom with a window onto the hallway and a large loft with a king bed. There's also a second full bathroom with windows facing the parking lot.

The rooms feel like stepping straight into the 1980s, they're pretty dated. Still, the lake view and the peacefulness all around make up for it.
