Gretna Inn

A great value if you're on a budget. The rooms aren't fancy or updated, but ours was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We felt safe, and it wasn't noisy. They went above and beyond to accommodate what we needed.

This was for our daughter's seventh birthday, and we'd booked two rooms through American Forces Travel, including the kids in the reservations. My husband and dad are both disabled veterans. When we arrived to check in at 8 pm, the front desk said we'd have to pay more for each child, over $30 per child for the night. I showed them the booking confirmation, but they said their system didn't show the kids, so what I had didn't matter. My husband, dad, and I all tried to sort it out. They eventually agreed to cancel without charging us, after we'd tried to keep the rooms at the prices on our confirmation. One of the women said, “It's a busy night in Branson so we'll rebook them without a problem.” We ended up finding rooms in Springfield instead. It was frustrating on our daughter's birthday and made it a late night for cake and presents. I wasn't going to pay another $100 for the kids to stay for 12 hours because of a booking error on their end. The rooms were for two adults and one child, and two adults and two children.

The family who owns the place is sweet and works hard, and the location puts you close to all the fun stuff. They even had little Jesus figures to give away in the lobby. Breakfast was real decent, and free is always delicious 😋. I'll come back next time we're in Branson.

It's a simple motel, but it's clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast had eggs, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee, waffles, yogurt, plus hot chocolate and cappuccino from a machine. Gotta have my waffles! The only thing to know is there's a helicopter ride spot very nearby. You can hear the chopper taking off and landing all day. It didn't bother me, but I'm ex-military.
