Debbie, who handled breakfast, was wonderful to be around, gracious and friendly. The food was cleanly presented and available, and she always had a kind word. She went beyond what I expected. I had a very enjoyable stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Brattleboro during leaf-peeping season. Symphonie at the front desk made me feel warmly welcomed and clearly took pride in her role and the hotel’s presentation. She knew the area and suggested dinner at The Marina, a local place on the water. Freshly baked donuts and apple cider on arrival were a lovely touch, and I’m looking forward to coming back during the year. I don’t drink alcohol, but liked seeing seasonal selections from local brewers on display as a way to support local business and add to the atmosphere. There’s also a distillery next door, and a nightcap by the outdoor fire pit would make a nice addition to a trip. I’d recommend stopping in Brattleboro and saying hello to Frank and his stellar staff. The place may feel relaxing and peaceful enough that you don’t need to leave the property to feel at home.

Even though breakfast officially starts at 6, it was available earlier, which was great for the construction crews heading out early. The breakfast was very good, and the attendant clearly takes pride in her work. I arrived late after most of my team had checked in, but the staff knew who I was and were expecting me. From check-in through checkout, it felt warm and homey. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Nothing bad to say about the stay.

Check-in and checkout were easy, and breakfast was just right. The room was spotless, with very comfortable beds and pillows. I had a great stay and would definitely come back.

The heated indoor pool wasn’t as warm as I expected. Breakfast was free, with mostly heated prepared items like omelettes and pancakes, plus yogurt, bottled milk, boiled eggs, muffins and other pastries. Nothing seemed fresh. Still, the staff were courteous and helpful throughout my couple of nights over Labor Day weekend. My room was immaculate, comfortable and spacious, with very comfortable beds, and the water pressure and temperature were fine. All things considered, it was an excellent stay. I’d recommend it and return when I’m in the area.

We spend four nights a week in hotels around VT for work, so I’m glad we found this place. It’s a beautiful, fresh, comfortable hotel, and the staff are kind, accommodating, and eager to help. It works well for a short or longer stay. Just keep in mind the pool is smaller than many others, and the gym isn’t set up for serious workouts, which is pretty normal for a hotel.
