I loved the old details, especially the windows, and my room even had a record player with records. The bed was cozy and the room was clean and comfortable. From my first call with questions through checkout, the staff were kind. The charming young woman in a polka dot dress checked me in and made me feel welcome right away, though I didn’t get her name. This was my first visit to Brattleboro, and the Latchis is right by the train station where I arrived. It’s downtown, very walkable, and felt safe. It costs a little more than some other options, so it depends on what you need, but I really enjoyed staying here. I was too tired to see a movie at the attached theater and fell asleep, though it looked adorable.

The theater is stunning, and even if you don’t see a movie, it’s worth taking a peek inside. We stayed in a spacious, clean two-room suite at this theatrically themed hotel in central downtown Brattleboro, with a historic movie theater attached. There’s also a small restaurant; its menu is limited, but the food was good. In the lobby, a cozy coffee nook has comfortable couches and complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the location is great for walking to shops and restaurants. Covered bridges are a short drive away. Parking is very limited, which was disappointing. There’s a paid public lot next door, though I don’t know if it allows overnight parking. During our stay, the ACs were off and there was no way to control the temperature, so the rooms felt warm. That may be fine if you sleep warm, but I prefer a cold room and was uncomfortable. A fan was provided and helped.

The river view from my room was beautiful, especially at sunset, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I stayed one night during a road trip and was glad to find this historic, charming building. Check-in was simple, and the front desk staff member was very helpful and explained everything clearly. It’s also well located, with shops and places to eat an easy walk away.

A good-value downtown Brattleboro hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. The building is older and has its quirks, so don’t expect the Ritz, but the location is convenient and the price is great. I stayed in a third-floor King room and would come back without hesitation.

The lobby and whole place have a great atmosphere, and the room was clean and fuss-free. I booked an interior queen for two quiet nights, and it was quiet, with a comfy bed and plenty of pillows. There was also a large bathtub, fridge, and microwave. I didn’t expect to get so into the record player and vinyl lending library, but I listened to 7-8 records. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby 24/7, and I loved the historic rooms and photos. I also caught a movie at the Latchis theater. Great quick getaway, and I’d recommend it.
