My main disappointment was how the front desk handled the booking problem. When I came to check in, they said there were no rooms and that online booking wasn’t supposed to be available. The woman there didn’t offer to find another place or otherwise fix the issue. While I called booking agencies, she sighed loudly, paused the movie she was watching to give vague answers, then went back to it. Priceline was helpful and moved me to another hotel. At that hotel, when I said I’d been relocated from the quality Inn, the woman at the desk audibly gasped and said, “I didn’t realize they rented rooms anymore, that place has been a homeless shelter since Covid”. After reading recent reviews from people who had stayed there, I’m very glad I didn’t spend the night. The property is listed online and you can book it, despite being a higher-priced hotel for this town. That’s misleading to people who need a room, and something should be done about it. Even if it is a homeless shelter, the staff’s conduct was wildly unprofessional.

The beds were very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The exterior decor was welcoming, and this was one of the least expensive stays in the area. The bathroom, though, didn’t look very clean, with black mold spots on the ceiling over the shower and in some tile grout. Breakfast was okay and included a fresh fruit salad. I felt unsafe because the side door stayed open all night and there were no security cameras, so anyone could walk in and out. A few finishing details need attention, and the TV picture was fuzzy.

The room was clean and seemed to have been redone fairly recently, with clean bedding and a comfortable bed. My original room had a door that wouldn’t lock, but the receptionist fixed the issue fairly quickly. They also honored my request for a quiet room, and I didn’t hear noise overnight. The hallway carpet in the common areas was filthy and didn’t look like anyone bothered to vacuum it. I took a quick look at breakfast and didn’t care for it. It seemed worse than what you’d normally expect at a motel, though better than nothing. After reading the reviews, I expected worse, and the stay didn’t disappoint. I gave it two stars because of the dirty carpet and food, but it’s a step above the Motel 6 on the same road, which is sometimes more expensive.

I drove 100s of miles today and arrived with a reservation, only to be told the hotel had no rooms at all. The woman at the front desk seemed completely unconcerned that I was now out in the cold. Avoid this place unless you want you and your loved ones to die in the street.

The halls smelled bad, and the room stank of body odor and wet dog. My wife kept getting bitten, and we eventually saw bedbugs coming from the pillows, plus a few on the walls. There were also a few squashed on the hallway walls. We told the staff, who blamed us for the infestation. Later, after we warned a new guest, we were kicked out and banned. I wouldn’t stay here or recommend it to anyone. The Hilton next door is much, much better. Go there!
