Americas Best Value Inn Breaux Bridge

I stayed on the first floor in early March 2025 and found German roaches in the room. When I turned on the lights to use the restroom, they scattered, and some even got into the fridge where I had my food. I looked behind the furniture holding the TV for an outlet and found food, used condoms, and wrappers. The roof still had tarps on it from the 2020 hurricane.

The front desk guy was really nice and easy to talk to, and the place was clean. I was here for work, and everything I needed was a short walk away. The room lighting was pretty dim, but it wasn't a big deal. For the price, I'd recommend staying here, and I'd come back if work brings me this way again.

The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up, and the pillows were much better than the usual flat ones. Room 115 was clean and quiet, and the people were lovely. Check-in was quick, and the place looks like it's been remodeled recently. The shower pressure wasn't great and the drains were a bit slow. They also have CDL discounts. I'd stay again.

I had a really good first stay here, so it feels awful to write this. Less than a week later, the same staff recognized me, greeted me warmly, and put me in room #110, a few doors from my first room. It started out well, with a clean, quiet room and a comfortable bed. In the morning I woke up with itchy bites on both arms, my hands, shoulders, and back. I also saw a bedbug crawling beside me on the white sheets. I won't be returning, and I'd advise others to stay away unless they're okay with painful, intensely itchy welts lasting 1-2 weeks.
