The hosts were so friendly, and the hot tub was a relaxing treat after our stay. My wife and I spent two nights here and had a great time. The room was lovely, with historic skiing decor, and breakfast had a couple of very good options. They also put out homemade cookies in the evening. We’d definitely come back.

My mom has stayed at plenty of B&Bs, and she said this was one of the best. We found the room quiet and comfortable, and the back deck has stunning views. The hosts were wonderfully welcoming and added thoughtful extras that made our short visit special. The place is immaculate. For everything the Abbott Placer Inn offers, I expected the rates to be much higher, and I hope to visit again.
The room was lovely, the food was wonderful, and everything was immaculate, but the place felt cold and unfriendly. On arrival, I was directed back to the front door and told to take off my shoes. She asked my shoe size and made it clear we weren’t to wear shoes anywhere inside; slippers were provided. Nobody used the shared area. We asked if our son, who was touring on Ride the Rockies, could come back, but he wasn’t welcome in the hot tub, and we didn’t feel he’d be welcome at all. At the other B&Bs on this tour, riders were welcomed in rooms, hot tubs, and common spaces. This didn’t feel like a warm, friendly western establishment. We won’t return.
Breakfast was an intimate, friendly affair, which is one of the things we love about B&Bs. Niels and Emma were great hosts. The room was clean, nice, and fun to relax in, and everything around town is within walking distance. We’ll definitely stay here again.
Apart from the awkwardness caused by Emma, one of the innkeepers, our stay would have been fine. There’s a rule against wearing shoes past the front room. On our first day, my mom accidentally walked into the house in clean, dry shoes to get something. Emma saw her, raised her voice instead of giving a quick reminder, then stormed down the hall grumbling. She seemed friendlier with the other guests after that and spoke less to us for the rest of our stay. She never apologized. The place itself was okay, I guess. We usually stay at Barn on the River, but it was booked this year. I’d recommend that place. This couple doesn’t seem suited to being innkeepers.
