Hyatt Vacation Club at The Ranahan

We were worn out when we arrived, so it was a relief that our suite was already ready. My husband and I used our Hyatt points for a quick getaway, and got to enjoy the indoor pool and its beautiful view. The location also has snowboard rentals at a decent price, which saved us from having to go elsewhere to look.

The one-bedroom apartment had more space than any other place I've seen around here, and the property feels modern and almost brand new. The gym has top-notch, current equipment. Pools are a big draw too, with the town's largest outdoor pool, a kids' area and slide indoors, and several hot tubs. Staff are amazing and go out of their way to help. It's five minutes from downtown Breck and five minutes from downtown Frisco, and the shuttle to the Breck gondola makes it feel like you're on the mountain while still being able to head out for dinner. I've been visiting the area for years, but since finding this hotel I haven't stayed anywhere else. Highly recommend it for the property and service.

We had a lovely view of a small pond from our spacious one-bedroom suite, though from the building layout it seems many rooms probably face the parking lot. The shower curtain wouldn't stay closed, perhaps because its rod was crooked, so water got onto the nearby cabinet and floor. Still, we loved our stay and would happily come back. The location between Breck and Frisco makes it easy to do things in either place.

The pools, indoors and out, are amazing, and I loved the mountain-facing balconies. The rooms themselves were great, but food options were a real letdown for the price per night. I spent $30 on coffee, yogurt, and pastries, and would have appreciated at least an included hot breakfast. Before booking, I called to ask about room service and was told I could order from the bar lounge, charge it to my room, and have it brought up. At check-in, they said there was no room service and that I'd have to pick up my bar order myself. The kitchen setup is just a toaster oven and microwave, so some more service and a hot breakfast would have made a difference.
