The flood itself may have been unavoidable, but the way it was handled was inexcusable. Our group of five spent the rest of our stay, several more days, in a damaged unit with soaked carpets, fans running constantly, a bathroom partly dismantled and barely working, and men coming in at random without warning. We were told at first that nicer accommodations were available for extra money. After we kept complaining, they said we’d get a refund, but the offer was only about $90 on a weekend that cost over $1,000 and was the worst stay any of us can remember. Things went wrong after an uneventful first night, when a major leak flooded the space between our unit and the one below. Maintenance workers told us we’d have to move once they began pulling up tiles, and one of our two carpeted bedrooms was flooded. Management still wouldn’t come inspect the room, despite repeated requests to speak with someone in charge. Vacasa, VRBO, Waterhouse, and Summit County Mountain Retreats were all involved, and none seemed willing to take responsibility. It appeared that SCMR ultimately had responsibility. The treatment we got added to the frustration. Maintenance had used all our towels on the wet floors, so we called the front desk for more. They said, “we will see what we can do,” and later gave us a trash bag full of towels. They also brought a few inadequate fans for the soaked carpets, which were still wet when we left. Moldy air anyone? We come to Breckenridge monthly this time of year and won’t stay here again. This dump is run by rude, incompetent people, and Beaver Creek Resorts is much better for a similar price. If you care about enjoying your stay or getting customer service, avoid this place.

I’ve stayed here twice and would book again. The rooms are gorgeous and roomy, and the price is much better than at nearby hotels. There’s a full kitchen with appliances and laundry machines in the unit. Just remember that parking costs extra and isn’t part of the booking.
We spent a week at Water House on Main #6108, which was supposed to sleep six, with two people using the sofa bed. That sofa was completely broken when we arrived. We reported it to the front desk and got no response, so we slept on the floor the first night. When we went back, they said they’d fix it, but it was beyond repair. We spent the whole week without a sofa, using roll-in beds instead. After skiing there was nowhere comfortable to sit, we couldn’t use the fireplace with the beds set up in the lounge, and watching TV from a sofa wasn’t an option. The apartment was poorly stocked too, with fewer glasses than we needed for more than four people, no more than five mugs, two of them chipped, and a TV that looked like it was from the 80s. Don at the front desk couldn’t answer questions or help, just nodded along. The GM, Brian Sherman, also made promises and then disappeared. Management offered a small refund, which felt like a joke. Vacasa was useless, and #6108 is overpriced and needs basic attention. A small amount of money could fix these issues, but they don’t seem to care while charging high prices. Customer service sucks.
We liked being close to all the activity and made good use of the property’s amenities. The bedrooms and both bathrooms were excellent, the place was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Our family had a two-bedroom house for five nights. The living room seating was the main thing I’d change. The couch and two chairs were rigid and straight-backed, not comfortable for family time after being on the slopes. The staff at the Hyatt, which runs the property, were fairly helpful, though not especially friendly or appreciative. We travel a lot and often get warmer treatment at ordinary hotels. Even so, we’d probably stay here again.
The location worked well, close to the mountains, and we liked the apartment’s design, kitchen, and fireplace. The view, though, was disappointing. When we asked to change apartments, no one helped and the staff were rude. The manager in particular wouldn’t talk with us, even though we were polite, and came across as completely unprofessional. Parking was confusing and easy to get lost in. We also didn’t like that all but one pool were closed, and reaching that one meant going through Main Street. Otherwise, the stay was okay.
