The apartment was a good layout for our group of ten, and the beds were comfortable. We had a great balcony view, the location was perfect for walking to Main Street, and our host responded quickly whenever we needed something. We usually walked into town, so despite the small parking lot we didn’t have trouble finding a spot. There were several things that could use attention. The lighting made the apartment feel dark, the dishes were short on bowls for ten people, and it would have been nice to have family board games. The listing said there was a washer and dryer, but the owners had them locked, so we had to take our clothes home dirty. We booked through VRBO and paid $400 more than booking on their website. The main problem was the heater in one bedroom. It ran all night even after we turned it off, and my children had a bad night sweating. I mentioned it to the host, but it wasn’t fixed. My husband is an electrician and turned off the heating unit’s breaker, which helped. We enjoyed the stay, though the place needs an update.

We loved the tucked-away feel of this place, especially with town still an easy walk away. From condo #204, we had a beautiful river view, and it was spacious enough for our family of six. The wash room is in the front building rather than in the unit, but it’s only a short walk and worked out fine. The Columbine pool, hot tub, and clubhouse were also easy to reach on foot. We really enjoyed our stay.

You can see the creek by walking around the back, though you’ll have to cross snow. The place itself was really nice, but there isn’t much parking and nobody clears the snow out front. Be careful where you leave your car, think about what kind of car you bring, and wear good shoes.

We stayed at Tannenbaum 2, unit 21, which was for eight people, though we booked through Airbnb and Ski Country Resorts managed it. They were horrendous. They insisted a mini fridge was enough for my family of six for eight nights, then said I could move out that same day with my 80-year-old father-in-law and three kids. They had nowhere for us to go, but told me I was “welcome to look.” Their bottom line is all that matters. Worst experience ever. Please never do business with them.

It was a good place for our large group of first-time skiers, and the property was clean with no extra frills. The ski-in, ski-out setup was pretty good. One Friday, though, parking lot clearing caused a problem and there was no other parking available. We had to leave the car about 25 minutes away and take two bus transfers back.
