Days Inn by Wyndham Breezewood

I was driving from Buffalo, New York, still five hours from home, in heavy rain so bad I could barely see ahead. I was stressed and couldn’t find a place that would take my new rescue dog, since several nearby hotels had turned us away. The man at the front desk noticed how upset I was and was incredibly kind. Because I was traveling alone, he even gave me a room close to the desk. I highly recommend them.

Honestly, this may be the worst hotel I’ve stayed at, and I’ve traveled all over the country. The old man running it was extremely rude when I told him I had my service dog. He asked for the dog’s papers and ID, and why I needed a service dog. I didn’t provide them, and since I booked through Priceline, I paid the pet fee. I’d seriously choose another hotel. The room reeked of bleach so badly that my wife, dog, and I were sneezing and our noses burned. The beds were filthy, so we had to use our own bedding. The heater barely worked, and the filter looked like it may never have been cleaned. The breakfast was garbage, and a woman watched us to make sure we weren’t eating too much. Next time I’m going through Breezewood, I’ll sleep in my truck, go to Bedford, or try another hotel. Minus one out of ten.

The bathroom was a little dated, with older tile, but it was clean, and the room itself looked more updated. The sheets were clean too. What took away a star for the room was the overpowering air freshener smell. Road noise came through pretty loudly, and it seems like fixing it would mean replacing all the windows and doors, which is unlikely. Earplugs would solve it for me, and I’d stay again.

Convenient location, clean rooms with a nice setup, and really good service at check-in. The complimentary breakfast was decent, and the room price was very reasonable next to nearby competitors. I’d visit again.
