Hampton Inn Bremen-I-20 (Carrollton Area)

The staff were great and breakfast was good. But the bathroom floor was clearly very dirty. I dropped something, picked it up, and had black grime all over my fingertips. The ice also had black stuff in it, so we couldn’t use it.

We were there to get through the incoming storms, but I wish we’d stayed home. The bed felt like a cinder block, probably the hardest one I’ve ever slept on. And the smell of weed hit us as soon as we came in. I’m pretty sure it was coming from the front desk, though there was still a faint smell on the second floor too, or maybe it had just stuck in my sinuses after standing there. Hilton can take me off the rewards program. I won’t be back.

The fire alarm went off at 1 a.m. We called the front desk and were told to ignore it, and nobody came to fix it. We stayed two nights, and when we first got to the room it smelled strongly of bleach. They said the previous guest had been sick and there were no other rooms. After we left, they charged us for smoking. We travel with our disabled daughter, my husband doesn’t smoke, and I never smoke around her. They also told my husband the room smelled of alcohol, but neither of us has ever drunk alcohol. I asked for proof and was told housekeeping had smelled it. That isn’t true. This feels like a scam, and I’m getting a lawyer to fight it in court.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff greeted me warmly. I’m glad I picked this hotel. If work doesn’t have me traveling, I’ll definitely stay here for a weekend.
