Lefevre Inn and Resort

The view was incredible, and I only wish it had been warm enough to enjoy it outside. It was below zero, but the wood-burning fireplace was perfect, the bed was comfortable, and the huge jetted tub was fantastic. Le Fevre Inn was quiet, quaint and welcoming, and the staff were amazing. Then our vehicle wouldn’t start when we went to check out. Alfredo at the front desk tried to jump it, and when that didn’t work, he drove my husband to the store for a new battery and let me stay in the room until they got back. We were so grateful for his kindness. We’ll absolutely come back and tell our friends and family about the experience.

It was peaceful, with a beautiful view. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the grounds and pool were well looked after. I enjoyed our stay.

We rented the Sunset View House for a Christmas trip with family, and it was amazing. I’d recommend it if you’re traveling with more than four or five people. We’ve stayed here five times now, and it hasn’t disappointed us once.

We used to love staying here and even had our wedding here in 2024. The owner double-booked us with another couple, which caused some hiccups, but we kept coming back. This time, we were disappointed. The place hasn’t kept up: WiFi was spotty, the TVs weren’t smart TVs, and our DVD player didn’t work. The carpet looked old and dingy, black marks covered the walls, and the fireplace filled the room with smoke. Worst of all was the cheap perfume smell on the towels and bedding. They hadn’t used fragrance on the linens before, and I broke out in hives the first night. I slept on the couch with a blanket from our car, then had to spend part of our trip going to the local Walmart to buy sheets for the second night. I would’ve asked for different bedding, but when I called about a burnt-out lightbulb, the room was terribly dim and I could hardly see, the owner seemed annoyed that I asked for a replacement. We loved being able to bring our dog, walk the grounds and enjoy the views. There are lots of great places to stay in Galena, so we’ll find somewhere else next time.
